So, despite taking two different antibiotics, my right breast continues to swell. I am now at the point that my nipple is a little misshapen. Sorry for the TMI.
So, I went to my OB, who swabbed my boob for a culture, gave me another scrip for abx, and a scrip for a breast ultrasound. Fortunately they were able to work me in today for the ultrasound. The radiologist said that the breast tissue itself is not inflamed (no mastitis! Yay!), so it is probably cellulitis and they need to tinker with my abx (boo.) I am wondering if it is some sort of yeast type deal, in which case abx wouldn't work. Would really like this to resolve; I feel like I am contaminating Junior with these antibiotics. It also doesn't help things when I read the side effects. Pseudomembranous colitis, anyone? And it can happen weeks after stopping the medication. Ugh.

- My DH and I have been ttc #1 for over two years now. We found that we were dealing with Male Factor Infertility. He had bilateral varicoceles, ejaculatory duct obstruction, and low testosterone. He had surgery to repair the BV and EDO and now takes Arimidex to help with his testosterone. I had an HSG that revealed clear tubes and a arcuate uterus. We did 2 IUIs with Clomid and trigger that didn't work. We also did some CD3 bloodwork that revealed a slightly elevated FSH of 10.6. Everything else was normal. After a month of being drug free, we are beginning the process of IVF. Update: Got our bfp and we are expecting a boy on 11/13/08!

First, it's great to read that it is only cellulite, that has to be a huge relief.
I hope they can find the right meds to get rid of the pain for you sooner then later.
I'm sorry about the possible cellulitis. Nurses get all the odd ball stuff, and then we worry more because we always know a little "too much." I'm sorry that you have to take the antibiotics, try not to worry too much about developing the "special poop" possible weeks later as you said could happen. Chances are it won't happen and I'll be keeping you in my thoughts! Hugs..
